M+ is a museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. In Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District, we are building one of the largest museums of modern and contemporary visual culture in the world, with a bold ambition to establish ourselves as one of the world’s leading cultural institutions. Our aim is to create a new kind of museum that reflects our unique time and place, a museum that builds on Hong Kong’s historic balance of the local and international to define a distinctive and innovative voice for Asia’s twenty-first century.

(This is a fixed-term contract position of 6-month with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance.)

You will be responsible for: • supporting exhibition and graphic designers to accomplish design tasks including but not limited to exhibition graphics designs, label designs, event or programming signages and building wayfinding; • supporting exhibition and graphic designers by preparing sufficient artwork files for productions; • supporting members in the team and other stakeholders to implement exhibition design planning standards, including but not limited to research, site recce, material sourcing and graphic installation preparations; • upholding and providing input to designers on organising and archiving exhibition and graphic materials; and • accomplishing other assigned design related tasks for exhibitions and museum. You should: • possess a recognised university degree, ideally in relevant fields such as communication design, architectural design, interior design, creative media, or equivalent; • have a strong interest in working professionally in the design field; • be a good team player, a good communicator and a highly organised person; • understand museum accessibility standards and the role in exhibition design plays to shape displays; • be proficient with required desktop design tools, including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office, and other related software with demonstrable design skills with a strong portfolio; • preferably possess some relevant working experience (fresh graduates are welcome); and • have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin).
