M+ is a museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. (This is a fixed-term contract position of 2-year with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance.)

You will be responsible for

  • performing condition inspection and projection of analogue print material in adherence to archival and/or industry standards;
  • conduct first inspection and diagnosis of analogue projection equipment;
  • operating, cleaning and maintenance of digital projection and audio equipment, diagnosing and solving problems, and liaising with service engineers and contractors;
  • supporting the Moving Image Team and liaising with external clients on the technical operations for M+ Cinema and Grand Stair for movie screenings, talks and seminars;
  • working closely with technical supervisors and assistant managers in the planning and screening events preparation; and
  • performing other ad hoc duties as and when required.

You should

  • possess at least 5 subjects at Level 2 / Grade E or above in the HKDSEE / HKCEE or equivalent academic qualification;
  • have a minimum of 5 to 7 years relevant experience in cinema / video / audio in entertainment related industry, which must include at least 5 years of experience in analogue film projection;
  • have experience in operating different types of film projectors or video/ audio systems, including analogue film projection;
  • be proactive and have excellent interpersonal skills;
  • have good communication skills in Chinese and basic command of English; and
  • be able to work on shifts including weekends, holidays, late evenings shift according to a roster that is determined by the Authority and the actual work schedule and number of work days per week depend on workload demand.
