Multidisciplinary Design Intern

NEANDERTAL is looking for enthusiastic and talented interns who are looking to expand their design skills in a multidisciplinary design environment.

NEANDERTAL is a conceptual fragrance brand created by the artist Kentaro Yamada in East London studio in 2018. Neandertal has been creating fragrances with thought-provoking stories and our products have been stocked at 80+ fashion and concept stores worldwide such as Dover Street Market and 10 Corso Como Milan.

We design and produce everything from perfumes to ceramic containers to digital contents in-house. We also produce and mix our perfume in our studio. We are able to work with you and guide you through these processes so you learn a very wide range of skills while working with us.

What qualities do we look for in an intern?

• Someone who wants to understand how small businesses work in a startup environment.
• Demonstrates understanding of conceptual ideas of our brand
• Demonstrates good understanding in graphic design
• Excellent at the fundamentals of design craft (such as typography, colour theory, legible layout, photography, asset management, documentation and conceptual creative process)
• Comfortable with hands-on skills such as using power tools! (Good at DIY, product design or lego!)
• Thoughtful and ideas-based portfolio of work, in digital or printed form
• Good competencies in core Adobe graphics packages and MS Office software.
• Photography skill is a bonus.
