Description

Position Overview The Education Coordinator is a key administrative role within the Education department that provides customer service and information to the public, while also providing administrative support to colleagues and departments based on an informed and working knowledge of PAMM and the Education department. Working primarily under the direction of the Senior Director of Education, the Education Coordinator assists with the administrative tasks and coordination of a range of programming. This role also supports the Adult Education and Public Programs area of the Education department and reports for those specific duties to the Manager of Adult and Public programs. This individual must have an understanding of the importance of education within the museum’s mission, a strong communication skill set and ability to anticipate and solve challenges creatively.

Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills; Proficient in written and verbal communications (English)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning and interpersonal skills
  • Comfort and ability to create and work with databases, utilize basic math to gather and compile statistics
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize tasks according to department needs
  • Ability to work within a diverse cultural community
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Able to work to a flexible schedule that is primarily Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm but does require regularly scheduled hours during evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's preferred; OR 2 years applicable work experience in a relevant field/role
  • Administrative experience working in an arts or arts educational institution
  • Knowledge of ALTRU program
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software
  • Knowledge of Miami-Dade County Public Schools
  • Proficiency in Spanish

  • Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established in the employee handbook.

Physical Demands

  • Walk, bend, lift (up to 15 pounds) files, office supplies an electronic equipment.
  • Finger dexterity to pick up paper and use computer keyboard.
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • Ability to hear in normal tones including telephone and face-to-face conversation.
