PURPLE is looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager for its Beauty division to join the agency. The Senior Account Manager will play an essential role in supporting our Vice President for Fashion & Beauty in the development and execution of: generating maximum brand exposure through creative product placement, profile features and launches. The candidate must have a genuine passion for developing brands, using true initiative in order to achieve exceptional results. Impeccable client liaison skills and an established network of key contacts (brands, influencer and press) are essential.

Reporting to the VP for Fashion & Beauty, the Senior Account Manager’s responsibilities would include increasing awareness for all brands assigned to them. In this role the candidate will promote the different clients in all activities, campaigns, special projects, shows, presentations and events to the media and to develop and maintain relationships with key journalists and media within your assigned and designated market, acting as an ambassador for Purple.

Responsibilities

Media Relations

  • Networking & Liaising: Build and maintain relationships with media across relevant beats.
  • Media Plans: Execute plans including outreach, message development, event management, media trips, pitching, and spokesperson training.
  • Media Research & Analysis: Conduct competitive research and media analysis.

Communications Planning & Strategy

  • Develop comprehensive communications plans.
  • Propose and navigate partnership and collaboration opportunities.
  • Spearhead and support event logistics and production.
  • Produce weekly and monthly media reports.

Client Management

  • Handle all client communication, building trust and rapport.
  • Manage all product-related media requests.
  • Oversee sample product distribution, tracking, and follow-up.
  • Conduct general media monitoring.

Content Creation

  • Produce high-quality internal and external communications content.
  • Proactively pitch story ideas for maximum editorial placement.

Team Management

  • Manage and motivate junior team members.
  • Support senior team members.

Digital & Influencer Marketing

  • Understand paid, owned, and earned media strategies.
  • Develop relationships with top influencers.

Business Development

  • Contribute to new business efforts (proposals and pitches).

Other

  • Oversee and compile weekly client agendas.
  • Have strong connections with leading and emerging editorial talents in Asia.
  • Help junior staff reach personal and team targets.

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of public relations experience; agency exposure is ideal or in=house managing brand communications and PRA love of all things beauty, who keeps abreast on current beauty trends and can demonstrate exceptional knowledge of the beauty industry
  • Excellent spoken and written skill of Cantonese and Traditional Chinese
  • Basic written and good spoken skills of English is necessary
  • Proven experience operating in a senior position within the beauty industry
  • Proven track record of creating a positive impact on business through implementation of a PR strategy
  • Discreet, professional and well spoken, with excellent communication skills
  • Extremely well-organized, methodical and efficient, with a good dose of common sense and initiative
  • Pro-active and able to show initiative/ideas to constantly promote the Purple offering
  • Creative and strategic thinker
  • Strong established beauty press contacts
  • Regional press contacts are also desirable
  • Strong experience of event management
  • Strong presentation & superb writing skills
  • Able to identify communication opportunities across multiple media platforms
  • Strong MS Word skills; working knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel 1

Responsibilities

DIGITAL STRATEGY

  • Ideate and execute innovative influencer marketing strategies tailored to beauty clients, leveraging the latest trends and technologies
  • Serve as the team’s authority on influencer marketing and social news, providing insights on platform updates, emerging trends, and industry best practices
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure planning and strategy recommendations are cohesive and in line with the brand’s vision
  • Bring dynamic, creative insight to the agency through personal contacts network and interests, resulting in new business leads and the expansion of the agency’s influencer network
  • Lead planning and execution of influencer-driven product launches, social campaigns, and experiential influencer-focused events

CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT

  • Oversee and implement paid influencer campaigns from start to finish, ranging from nano to macro creators for US & Canada
  • Lead the team on influencer selection, contract negotiation, budget management, content review and post-campaign reporting
  • Develop campaign briefs and collaborate with influencers to create authentic and engaging content
  • Ensure contracting and negotiation process runs smoothly and is mutually beneficial with a focus on detail and accuracy
  • Ensure efficient allocation of resources and recommendations to achieve client KPIs
  • Manage affiliate programming and implementation for clients when necessary, ensuring effective integration with influencer strategies

INFLUENCER RELATIONSHIPS + NETWORK

  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with influencers from mid-tier to macro level, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the beauty space
  • Provide counsel for clients and teams and identify top KOLs across categories (beauty, fashion, lifestyle, sports, VIP) and ability to provide curated and very tailored recommendations per brand needs
  • Continuously build the team’s network of influencers, ensuring all recommendations align with client needs and goals

AFFILIATE MARKETING

  • Establish and implement affiliate marketing strategies to drive growth and customer acquisition for clients
  • Create strong relationships with affiliates to generate results for clients
  • Analyze performance and progress to understand the affiliate market landscape, suggesting any changes for improvement or industry developments

ORGANIC GIFTING STRATEGY

  • Oversee and manage client organic gifting strategy and execution
  • Propose creative gifting ideas that align with client vision and budgets
  • Track and measure the impact of gifting initiatives on brand awareness and engagement

REPORTING & ANALYTICS

Analyze influencer campaigns and provide client with clear and measurable results and key learningsUtilize analytics and reporting tools to and track KPIs and ROI

TREND & COMPETITOR ANALYSIS

  • Actively monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and platform innovations, delivering insights to clients and internal teams

  • Maintain a strong awareness of top beauty and lifestyle influencers across key platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and emerging channels

  • Ability to speak to clients with a strong POV on the current state of influencer marketing

TEAM MENTORSHIP

Manage, coach and motivate junior members of the team to ensure day to day operations run smoothly and PR results are delivered; while supporting them in their growth to the next level

Skills and Experience

  • B.S./B.A. in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or related area
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of influencer marketing/public relations experience, preferably within the beauty industry
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience drafting and editing contracts and deliverables
  • Experience managing influencer campaigns and budgetsTeam player who thrives on collaboration with team members of all levels
  • A self- starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior organizational and problem-solving skills
