Digital and Creative Communications Assistant
We are seeking a self-motivated, tech-savvy individual with a flair for creativity to support the online and digital aspects of Redress’ programmes and activities. Reporting to the Communications Manager, this role is ideal for a candidate who is organised, resourceful, thrives in a fast-paced work environment, has a keen eye for design, and is passionate about effecting positive change through their work.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the Redress and Redress Design Award website hosted on CMS, including:
- Regular updates to content and images in English and Chinese
- Management and implementation of plug-ins
- Periodic analysis of UX/UI and execution of UI updates
- General troubleshooting
- Implementation of content marketing strategies
- Monitor and gather traffic data across our digital communication channels (website, social media).
- Identify and implement measures to improve our reach to our target audiences, including software solutions, UI improvements, and SEO.
- Manage vendors and subscriptions for digital platforms including (but not limited to) Surveymonkey, Mailchimp, Microsoft 360, Adobe Suite, Wrike, etc.
- Keep up to date with current digital trends to support brand and communications objectives.
- Lead on optimising Redress’ data storage, including migrating from server-based to cloud-based storage.
- Provide basic in-office diagnostic and tech support as and when needed.
- Dispatch email marketing campaigns and manage Mailchimp databases.
- Support newsletter and e-communications optimisation. Create and maintain staff user accounts.
Creative Assistant Duties Under the guidance of the creative lead and Communications Manager, undertake graphic design work primarily for online platforms. This includes:
- Creating engaging visual content, resizing key visuals to fit different social media formats, and ensuring brand consistency across all digital channels.
- Occasionally designing simple posters to support various campaigns and initiatives.
- While the creative direction will be provided, you are expected to contribute fresh ideas and execute designs with a high level of quality and attention to detail.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Eligible to live and work in Hong Kong
- Undergraduate university degree in computer science or related discipline
- Experience managing CMS websites (Squarespace and Wordpress a plus)
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in a similar role
REQUIRED SKILLS & DESIRED PROFILE
- Familiarity with HTML and CSS a must
- General understanding of Javascripts/JQuery, SEO skills a plus
- Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar software
- Excellent general IT skills and knowledge
- Fluency in English and Cantonese is a must. Written simplified Chinese a plus.
- Resourceful, responsible and with a sense of initiative
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently on projects with initiative
- An interest in environmental sustainability is a plus
