The Most Liveable Cities in 2025

Date

The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has issued its annual rank of the world's most livable cities.

The index assesses over 30 factors across five categories: healthcare, culture and environment, education, infrastructure, and stability.

Scores range from 1 (intolerable) to 100 (ideal).

Generally, smaller cities rank higher, with only three cities in the top 20 having populations over 6 million. Major cities like London (54th) and New York (69th) rank lower due to factors like crime, terrorism threats, and traffic, while Tokyo is 13th.

  1. Copenhagen, Denmark (98.0)
  2. Vienna, Austria (97.1)
