We are seeking an experienced, passionate and highly motivated Assistant Director of Wellness to join Janu Tokyo. This role is suited for a dynamic professional who thrives in a luxury hospitality environment and is dedicated to delivering exceptional wellness experiences. As Assistant Director of Wellness, you will support the leadership and management of the entire wellness operation, ensuring the highest standards of guest satisfaction, operational excellence and team development. Working closely with the Director of Wellness and Hotel Manager, you will play a key role in driving performance, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture and creating memorable wellness experiences that reflect Janu’s commitment to excellence, innovation and authentic hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily Wellness operations, ensuring smooth service and high guest satisfaction in line with Janu standards.
  • Lead, motivate and supervise the Wellness team to maintain productivity, service quality, and effective organization.
  • Monitor operations and conduct quality checks across wellness facilities and services.
  • Handle guest feedback and complaints promptly to ensure effective resolution and guest satisfaction.
  • Review daily revenue and reports to support monthly revenue and profitability targets.
  • Develop initiatives to increase wellness revenue, including spa treatments, movement classes and retail sales.
  • Collaborate with leadership, suppliers and partners to maintain strong relationships and service standards.
  • Support the creation of wellness programs, seasonal packages and guest experiences.
  • Manage staffing, recruitment, training, and performance development of the wellness team.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, safety, hygiene standards, and sustainability initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of practical experience in wellness within luxury hotels, hospitality groups or similar service environments
  • Strong operational knowledge of wellness, spa services and guest experience management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and issue-solving abilities
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop teams
  • Experience managing budgets, revenue performance and departmental profitability
  • Ability to maintain high service standards in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment
  • Advanced business-level English proficiency (CEFR C1 or higher)
  • Advanced business-level Japanese proficiency (CEFR C1 or higher)
  • Advanced PC skills including MS Office and professional documentation capabilities
