We are looking for a PR Manager to join Aman’s Global Communications team in taking responsibility for the brand’s PR strategy as well as leading on media liaison and communications for the UK market. The expected start date for this position is January 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in developing and executing a creative and business driven communications plan to support Aman’s hotels, resorts and lifestyle brands
- Sensitively promote and safeguard Aman’s brand identity, ensuring a positive, consistent and accurate representation at all times
- Managing a selection of the brand’s global network of 14 external PR agencies who represent Aman and look after media relations in key consumer markets, ensuring monthly, quarterly and annual objectives are met
- Leading on the PR strategy for the UK market, developing relationships with UK media and influencers, securing individual media stays to generate awareness of Aman and drive bookings to the brand’s hotels and resorts
- Develop relationships with target media in countries where Aman does not have PR representation, with a focus on markets such as Spain and Portugal
- Support on-property Marcomms Managers and General Managers as they execute local initiatives, liaising with these team members on a regular basis to extract newsworthy stories with the aim of generating a constant flow of coverage across the globe
- Lead on the organisation of UK media events
- Represent the brand at key UK industry events and award ceremonies
- Assist with the management of the department’s budget, which includes an allocation for media gifting initiatives and travel
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to implement aligned campaigns, encouraging sales and general awareness of the brand
- Draft press releases and pitching documents on new brand stories and property developments to issue to global media contacts with a specific focus on the UK
- Secure photoshoots with target UK publications at Aman’s hotels and resorts, negotiating appropriate coverage in exchange for accommodation
- Host group media trips to Aman’s hotels and resorts when necessary, obtaining flight support from third parties and organising every aspect of the visit
- Develop relationships with UK tour operators, tourism boards and airlines to generate support for individual and group media trips
- Provide support on any crisis activity for the company
- Work with the PR team in maintaining a global media database
- Keep ahead of travel trends, destination news and assist the PR team in distributing relevant information within the company
- Manage all UK award submissions and nominations
- Manage participation in charitable events, issuing vouchers when necessary
- Work with the PR team in producing regular reports to share key results within the company
- Work with the PR team in sharing all coverage produced following individual and group media trips
- Lead company calls when necessary to update other departments on recent PR activity
QUALIFICATIONS
- Over 3 – 4 years’ experience in PR/communications working either in-house or in an agency environment
- Will currently be at Senior Account Executive or Account Manager level
- Experience in luxury hospitality
- Strong UK media relations and industry knowledge
- Knowledge of and/or direct experience of corporate crisis communications
- Experience in traditional, social and digital PR channels
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Good computer skills and proficient use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Powerpoint
