Hardware Design Assistant | Kättermusen — Åre, Sweden

We are looking for someone to join our team in Åre as a Hardware Design Assistant. It's important that you are self-driven, capable of coming up with innovative solutions, and able to take ownership of your work. As a Hardware Design Assistant, you will support the team in the development of new products, such as smaller accessories and other items.

This is an exciting and challenging role with great variety and development potential, focusing on hardware and accessories. We are seeking someone who is experienced in product development, construction, and fit, with a keen eye for detail and technical solutions. You should enjoy working with functional products and be passionate about innovation and precision.

This role requires creativity, as well as a high level of structure and planning to meet deadlines throughout the development process. You will be reporting directly to the Hardware Design Lead.

What you´ll do

Be part of the Klättermusen hardware design team working with bags, backpacks, accessories, and other small products. This includes:
Conducting research on products to bring to market
Creating design briefs and internal presentations
Creating technical drawings for prototyping
Providing feedback on prototypes (proto comments)
Creating BOM (Bill of Materials) lists
Communicating with suppliers during prototyping, ensuring quality and timelines are met
Assisting in creating color sketches for all products each season
Assisting in preparing final technical drawings for production
Supporting designers with color selection for new products each season

What you have

A degree in design or development (Product Design, Accessories, or Product Development)
Business-level proficiency in written and oral English
Good knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign
Experience with a PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system
A humble, team-oriented attitude with excellent communication and organizational skills
A strong understanding and interest in technical outdoor products
A passion for sustainable design
