Merchandise Planner & Buyer

As Merchandise Planner & Buyer, you will play a pivotal role within the strategic commercial team, helping us shaping our product strategy and executing Go-To-Market plans by combining data-driven forecasting with targeted, channel-specific buying decisions. You’ll be responsible for building seasonal forecasts, executing purchase plans and managing inventory for our retail stores and eCommerce platform. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the right products are available in the right place, at the right time—maximizing sell-through, minimizing excess, and driving margin performance.

This position is full-time, located at the Stockholm or Åre Office.

Responsibilities and Key Tasks

– Create and develop Omni-Channel plans and forecast models to support commercial strategies

– Build and maintain the seasonal forecast template to provide the Merchandising Planning team with the tools and data needed for accurate, efficient buy planning.

– Collaborate with retail, eCommerce and marketing teams to align product assortments with campaigns and launches.

– Own the purchase of seasonal products for DTC channels based on historical sales data, inventory level, trend analysis, and commercial strategy.

– Partner with logistics and Order coordinators teams to ensure timely product availability

– Help with preorder prioritization strategies that can allow for better allocations and deliveries to all majors channels, including distributors, key wholesale accounts, retail stores and eCommerce

– Use key metrics and reports to asses risks and opportunities with forecast accuracy, sell-thru, inventory stock levels, sales trends and margin rates

– Analyse sales performance and adjust buying and planning strategies accordingly.

– Ensure we sell the right products in the right place by aligning assortment planning with regional and channel-specific needs

– Monitor inventory levels, perform stock transfers from one location to another and recommend replenishment strategies to avoid stockouts or overstock.

– Ensure the NOOS (Never Out of Stock) strategy is implemented effectively, maintaining availability of key products year-round.

– Manage end of season inventory from stores to rebalance inventory across channels, support future assortments, and minimize end-of-season excess

– Support and help implement markdown strategies for eCommerce and Retail and any further liquidation strategies for end-of-life inventory

Who You Are You’re a commercially minded buyer with a strategic lens and a proven track record in the outdoor or fashion industry. You thrive in a fast-paced, multi-channel environment and bring a strong analytical mindset to every decision. You’re comfortable navigating between complex data set and intuition, and you know how to balance seasonal trends with long-term planning. With a collaborative spirit, you work seamlessly across teams—from merchandising and planning to logistics and marketing—to drive results. You’re detail-oriented, proactive, and always looking for ways to improve processes, optimize inventory, and elevate the customer experience across all channels.

You Also Are or Have

– Minimum 3+ years experience in buying, planning, or merchandising within the outdoor or fashion industry.

– Strong commercial and strategic mindset with a deep understanding of multi-channel retail dynamics, Go-To-Market plans and retail math

– Educational background in Business, Economics, Data Science or Merchandising (or equivalent experience).

– Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex formula, pivot tables, and data modelling, and confident working with ERP and other BI tools

– Skilled in building and managing seasonal forecasts, assortment plans, and inventory strategies.

– Analytical thinker with the ability to interpret large data sets and translate insights into action.

– Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with merchandising, logistics, and marketing teams.

– Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle challenges in real time and adapt to changing situation

– Passion for the outdoor lifestyle and a strong understanding of seasonal product cycles
