About the role We are seeking a highly experienced Production Manager to lead and optimise the production department at Lee Mathews. The Production Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle, seasonal critical paths, supplier relationships, quality control across all production stages, and achieving margin targets.
This is an ideal role for someone confident in the industry, with a strategic mindset to streamline processes and deliver exceptional outcomes.
This role will include, but is not limited to
- Lead the full production process, ensuring seamless delivery from sample through to bulk production.
- Manage seasonal production schedules, aligning timelines with business priorities and critical milestones.
- Drive profitability through effective supplier negotiation and cost management.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with local and offshore suppliers.
- Oversee quality control and approvals across fabrics, trims and garments, ensuring alignment with brand standards.
- Maintain accurate production data across all business systems.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process innovation and cross-functional efficiencies.
- Anticipate and resolve potential production challenges to ensure minimal disruption to timelines and quality.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Production Assistant, providing guidance and confidence in the role.
Requirements for the role
- 5-7 years' experience in production management within fashion or textiles.
- Proven success in leading production across multiple seasons and collections.
- Strong strategic approach with demonstrated ability to negotiate costs, optimise margins, and improve production outcomes.
- Deep understanding of garment construction and production workflows.
- Proficient in production management systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in managing local and international suppliers, with flexibility to travel offshore as required.
- Exceptional leadership, communication and relationship skills.
- A decisive and strategic problem solver who thrives in a past-paced environment.
- Comfortable working in a small, agile team environment.
