M+ is a museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Located in Hong Kong’s WestK, we are one of the leading museums of modern and contemporary visual culture in the world. The M+ Internship Programme is a unique opportunity for those who are interested in developing a career in the museum field. You will work closely with the M+ team full time for a period of one year, gaining both practical and theoretical training. This intake will take place from August 2025 to August 2026.

The Curatorial Internship offers hands-on curatorial and exhibition-making experience. Working with one of our curators as their mentor, they will assist the curatorial department on upcoming M+ exhibitions and public programmes centred around Design and Architecture.

You will be able to

  • learn about M+, its collection and programmes;
  • undertake research on topics that will contribute to the development of the museum and upcoming programmes;
  • gain practical and theoretical training through an active involvement in our on-going projects; and
  • participate and assist in the organisation of M+ exhibitions, internal workshops, and other public programmes; and
  • gain exposure and a unique insight into the working of international project for M+.

You need to:

  • possess a recognised university degree or equivalent qualification in art, curatorial studies, design history, architecture, film studies, art education, cultural studies, museum studies, or related subjects in humanities;
  • have strong interest in working in the museum field;
  • have strong organisational skills and detail-oriented;
  • have strong teamwork and interpersonal skills;
  • possess some relevant working experience is preferred but not required; and
  • have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin).
