Reporting to the Manager, Digital Products, the candidate will work with colleagues from across the museum, including curatorial, marketing, operational and technical staff to manage the development and production of interactive media experiences with an emphasis on in-gallery technology experiences such as the future museum building’s multimedia guide.

You will be responsible for

• being a product owner for a variety of in-gallery products, technologies and related services; • planning, coordinating, producing, and updating interactive media experiences for exhibitions, aligning with the curatoria’s directions and creative strategies.; • working both independently and collaboratively to manage the development of in-gallery technology experiences, from procurement to delivery; • creating schedules and monitoring due dates to ensure deadlines are met and project goals are achieved; • collaborating with third-party service providers, including product and software developers, consultants, hardware vendors, and web designers; • Maintaining and enhancing the performance of existing products, including debugging and resolving technical issues; • participating in the project planning, production briefs for product development including but not limited to sitemaps, wireframes, prototype, functional and technical specifications, data analytics, and maintenance flow throughout the project duration and product lifecycle; • Keeping abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

You should

• possess a recognised university degree or equivalent; • have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in digital production, product management, digital project management or related field; • proven experience in software and web-based product development, with proficiency in languages such as Python, C, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. • demonstrate experience in producing in-gallery technologies such as visual and audio interactive products as well as a strong working knowledge of creative software suites and content management systems; • possess experience and detailed understanding regarding user acceptance testing (UAT); • have excellent project management skills, including experience working with third-party vendors and freelancers; • have strong strategic thinking and creative application skills and an ability to work well in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team; • be highly organised and detail-oriented, with a verve for problem-solving and a strong interest in arts and culture; and • possess excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Chinese with an ability to work and collaborate with both technical and non-technical staff.
