Development Intern

(This Graduate Intern contract is up to 31 July 2026.)
The Development (M+) Internship Programme offers a good overview of the museum's diverse fundraising efforts, including structured membership schemes, individual donations, corporate sponsorships and foundation grants. Working closely with professional staff in the Authority, the interns will gain hands-on experience in supporting various sponsorship projects and a wide range of development-related events. The internship will cover the areas of Sponsorship or Individual and Institutional Giving.
You will be responsible for
- learning about M+, its current development, collections and programmes;
- receiving mentorship from Senior Manager, Corporate Sponsorship and Manager, Patronage and Philanthropy, gain practical training through contributing to the sponsorship team’s diverse range of tasks, including but not limited to deal structuring, sponsorship pitching, stakeholder relationship management, project management, events planning and coordination;
- providing administration support, including but not limited to conducting research on potential donors, preparing reports and agreements, issuing acknowledgement letters and receipts;
- managing the CRM system, including data entry and regular updates Coordinating with internal or external parties for the patrons' events and council meetings;
- preparing invitations, compiling guest lists, preparing attendee biographies and providing on-site support;
- managing event registration page and updating WestK app;
- coordinating with internal parties and developing marketing communication collaterals such as EDM;
- arranging guided tours and dispatching packages for patrons;
- working with other teams at M+ and West Kowloon Cultural District on cross-departmental projects, and gain insight of the museum's work from a task-driven perspective;
- learning about fundraising for an international museum through different pillars, from sponsorship, grants, donation, as well as membership schemes;
- gaining exposure and a unique insight into the working of an international project for M+; and
- performing any other duties from time to time as reasonably assigned by the Authority.
You should
- be a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
- possess a recognised university degree or equivalent qualification in administration, business, marketing, journalism, communications, social sciences or related subjects in the humanities;
- possess some relevant working experience is preferred but not a must;
- have strong interest in working professionally in the museum field;
- have strong organisational skills and detail-oriented;
- have strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; and
- have excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin).
