You will be responsible for

  • providing support and project direction across the museum primarily to the Collection and Exhibitions team and the Curatorial team, with short and long-term planning, managing executions and implementations of all exhibitions, display projects, and other curatorial projects;
  • liaising between key stakeholders, senior management, specific curators-in-charge and the Collection and Exhibitions team providing administrative support for procurement and record keeping as required;
  • project managing all aspects of exhibitions, display projects, and other curatorial projects, ensuring compliance with museum standards, including but not limited to schedules and budgets, working closely with project teams, serving as liaison across all WKCDA departments, developing contracts, ensuring deadlines are met and overseeing installation of exhibitions;
  • actively contributing to departmental meetings and the planning and execution of exhibition projects;
  • developing agreements with the relevant departments and ensuring the museum is appropriately represented and procedures are adhered to;
  • managing the master schedule of specific curatorial projects and supporting M+ international touring exhibitions if and when required.

You should

  • possess a recognised university degree in relevant fields such as art history, museum studies, arts administration, cultural management or equivalent;
  • have a minimum of 5 years’ experience leading and project managing exhibitions within a museum or gallery environment;
  • have strong project management and team skills with the ability to work with tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks within an ever-changing environment;
  • be able to solve problems and prioritise needs in a variety of situations where immediate decisions are necessary;
  • be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word and Excel and PowerPoint); knowledge of Microsoft Project or equivalent software would be preferred;
  • have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in English and Chinese;
  • have a high level of discretion and the ability to escalate arising issues appropriately.
