You will be responsible for

  • gathering quotes and costing for exhibition construction and maintenance work;
  • supervising external contractors through the planning and execution of projects to ensure quality finish of construction and exhibition materials according to museum standards: Focusing on medium scale collections-based exhibitions but also providing support to production team members on other exhibitions as needed;
  • providing admin support to the I&D team for data entry, billing, asset tracking, and other production related administrative tasks;
  • moving equipment, portable display cases and tools and materials as required;
  • contributing to the back of house non- collection storage areas and supplies, including tracking inventory of equipment, ordering and sourcing materials and supplies, graphics, and display furniture;
  • undertaking daily maintenance and repair of exhibits and exhibition space during exhibition display period;
  • collaborating with collection and storage related activities when required;
  • supporting the installation and displays team, vendor orders and technical assessments for Tendering;
  • facilitating Exhibition Production team logistic arrangements for equipment and materials transportation when required;
  • assisting the I&D team with any ad hoc production, lighting or exhibition related tasks that arise; and
  • performing any other duties as directed by the Authority

You should

  • possess a recognised university degree or diploma, preferably in related field;
  • have at least 2 years of experience in providing technical support for exhibition construction; projects, preferably in a museum environment, art gallery or equivalent;
  • have an understanding of quality and standards required for wall structures and finishes used for objects displays in a museum/gallery setting;
  • be familiar with technical requirements related to AV equipment and lighting fixtures;
  • have an ability to locally source materials and supplies required for objects display;
  • be able to work independently and as part of a team;
  • demonstrable organisational and time-keeping skills;
  • preferably have familiarity museum processes; and
  • be proficient in written and spoken English and Cantonese.
