Head, Event and Museum Hospitality (M+ Museum)
M+ is a museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Reporting to Deputy Director, Museum Operations, this role aims to optimize overall sales opportunity, guest satisfaction and visitor engagement across Venue Hire, Event Hosting, Members Lounge Operations and Visitor Services.
You will be responsible for
- working closely with Deputy Director, Museum Operations, to define and execute short and long-term strategic plans for commercial deliverables and visitor experience in line with overall operating budgets, net revenue accountability and socio-economic conditions across event hire and visitor engagement;
- setting targets and KPI’s for income generation and operations plans to maximize productivity for M+ Lounge, Event Hosting, Private Viewing and Tours;
- developing and driving the museum’s event sales, private viewing, group ticket and tour sales strategy for all M+ Museum Galleries and outdoor facilities;
- leading a team of sales, event coordination, visitor guide and host professionals and working closely with F&B, Moving Image and Learning and Interpretation counterparts to ensure smooth operations of all daily front of house operations and event functions including but not limited to staff management, systems readiness, third party coordination, in-house rule compliance and customer relationship management;
- monitor event operation team and porter service team to ensure the smooth running of internal and external events of the Museum;
- identifying diversified business opportunities with other relevant departments and other opportunistic possibilities and building long-term relationships with prospects;
- collaborating with counterparts to develop business synergy and fostering “Out of the box” thinking to enhance the M+ destination as the preferred venue for visits, tours and events in the local community and with overseas organizations;
- keeping abreast of market practices locally and in the region and evolving the product concepts to match with M+ brand image;
- establishing service quality requirements for relevant parties to follow so as to ensure the highest service standard is delivered to visitors and customers at all the time;
- working closely with Learning and Interpretation as well as Collections and Exhibitions teams to lead the development and delivery of training programmes to ensure that relevant parties are equipped with right level of skills and product knowledge to serve all guests and visitors while ensuring the safety of the collection and visitors;
- overseeing service quality of Service Providers and ensuring the highest service standard is delivered to clients at all times;
- creating an attitude of pride without arrogance within the team, leading with a high level of motivation and in full compliance with regulatory and weather requirements; and
- performing any other duties as may direct by Employer when necessary.
You should
- possess a recognised degree in any disciplines;
- have at least 12 years of experience with international luxury hotel brand which 5 years at managerial position;
- demonstrate strong negotiation, influencing, collaboration and problem-solving skills with good business acumen and numerical sense to drive sales targets and explore new business opportunities;
- possess strong leadership capability and attributes which aim to deliver the best business result and effective team management particularly experience in managing a large number of operational staff;
- have good communication skills, be proficient in both written and oral English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage.
