M+ is a museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The museum’s operation team seeks a creative, collaborative and highly organised producer. Reporting to the Deputy Director, Museum Operations, the Producer will be working closely with multiple departments across the organisation, to drive, create and produce performance programmes for enlargement of the museum’s audience base.
This is a fixed-term contract position of 1-year with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance.
You will be responsible for:
- producing an extensive interdisciplinary public programmes and experiences such as night programmes, festivals and talks, happenings and performances for audiences from different interests and backgrounds;
- collaborating and supporting supervisor in programme design and content development;
- managing and coordinating with artistic teams, artists, creatives, performers to collate related production information;
- supervising contractual and liaison work with service providers, drafting project proposal and consolidating meeting documents and presentation materials;
- project management including monitoring project timeline, budget, procurement, setup and dismantling of events, onsite operation and logistics, and related administrative work;
- managingthe implementation of programmes onsite including frontline operation and coordination, and other kinds of assistance (often in the evening/after hours or weekends); and
- performing any other duties as supervisor may direct when necessary.
You should
- possess a recognised university degree in performing arts, arts or cultural studies, arts or cultural management, arts education, theatre or a related field;
- have at least 8 years of experience in arts and cultural sector, event production or event management, preferably including 3 years in a managerial position;
- possess knowledge and experience in producing performing arts programme, preferably in Museum context, candidate with technical knowledge of stage, lighting and sound is an advantage;
- have a comprehensive understanding of Museum and be familiar with the performing arts scene in Hong Kong;
- be competent in performing arts programme design and production;
- exhibit strong project management, communication and interpersonal skills;
- be open-minded, highly-organised and detail-oriented; and
- be proficient in written spoken English and Chinese.
