This is a fixed-term contract position of 2-year with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance.

Summary of the Role Reporting to the Producer, Special Events, the Senior Production Officer is responsible for assisting in planning, coordination, and execution of special events at the museum. This role requires good organizational skills and proficiency in reading and drafting floor plans, along with extensive production knowledge in a fast-paced environment and will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure safe and seamless events.

You will be responsible for

  • handling pre- and post-event documentation, as well as the setup and operations of events;
  • reading and interpreting drawings, floor plans, and stage layouts. Using AutoCAD to draft and modify floor plans and spatial configurations to meet safety and artistic requirements;
  • Liaising with internal departments and external partners to coordinate logistics, safety and technical requirements;
  • supporting stage management, setup, and rehearsals. Ensuring all production elements (e.g., sound, lighting, AV, props) are in place and operational;
  • gathering technical requirements for workshops and F&B partner, planning of queue lines, and ensuring accessibility for diverse audiences;
  • Adhering to safety regulations and museum policies, ensuring all setups comply with fire codes, accessibility standards, and evacuation requirements;
  • Consolidating vendors information for registration, assist with event administration and payment processing, maintain proper documentation and production schedules, and prepare reports to communicate updates to stakeholders; and
  • Performing any other duties from time to time as reasonably assigned by M+.

You should

  • hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Theatre Production, Arts Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience);
  • possess a minimum of 3-4 years in event production and performances;
  • have production knowledge and technical skills, that including:
    • understanding of live event production, including stage management, lighting, sound, and rigging.
    • proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting and modifying technical drawings.
    • able to read and interpret technical drawings.
    • familiarity with production equipment is a plus.
  • exhibit excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including artists, production crew, technicians, and museum staff;
  • thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while managing multiple tasks and deadlines;
  • demonstrate quick thinking and resourcefulness to address unexpected challenges during event planning and execution;
  • be proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD experience is mandatory.
  • passionate of music, dance, and the arts; and
  • be available for irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays a necessary.
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as Production Officer, Special Events
