M+ Volunteer Guide Programme Coordinator
M+ is a museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Located in Hong Kong’s WestK, we are one of the leading museums of modern and contemporary visual culture in the world. The museum reflects our unique time and place, building on Hong Kong’s historic balance of the local and the international to define a distinctive and innovative voice for Asia’s twenty-first century.
You will be responsible for
- Assisting in organizing M+ Volunteer Guide Programme recruitment, onboarding and training;
- Handling daily administrative tasks for the programme, which includes preparing roster and allowance payment on a monthly basis;
- Keeping track of volunteer guides’ attendance and performance;
- Answering inquiries and communicate with volunteer guides regularly on their overall experience;
- Preparing training resources and materials, such as training and tours notes;
- Managing equipment and set up for the volunteer guide training sessions;
- Managing the record of the programme and keeping the overall database about the volunteer guides up-to-date;
- Other related duties for the smooth running of M+ Volunteer Guide Programme, such as liaising with other departments for on-site logistic arrangements; and
- Performing any other duties from time to time as reasonably assigned by the Authority.
You should
- Possess a recognised university degree, preferably in cultural management, art administration, education, art and humanities, or social science or equivalent;
- Have 2 - 3 years of relevant work experience; relevant experience on volunteer projects as a coordinator or an officer is preferred;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Be self-motivated and able to work independently and cooperatively with others in a fast-paced environment;
- Possess strong administrative and programme coordination skills;
- Be highly organised and detail-oriented;
- Have good oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese.
- Be occasionally work weekends, evenings and public holidays if programmes or training are arranged;
- Be proficient in basic video editing, Chinese Word Processing, and MS Office, and able to adopt different IT strategies to manage personal data on platforms such as Outlook and Excel spreadsheets, and
- Less experienced candidates will be considered as M+ Volunteer Guide Programme Assistant
