Position Overview The Research and Data Coordinator reports to the Manager of Development Operations and is a key driver of PAMM’s ongoing fundraising goals through conducting prospect research, supporting solicitation strategies, and assisting in the maintenance of the organization’s CRM system. The Research and Data Coordinatorcompiles biographical and financial data on individuals, corporations, and foundations to support the Museum’s fundraising efforts and supports fundraising outreach through use of the Museum’s CRM (currently Blackbaud Altru) and other reporting tools.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Included, but are not limited to

  • Identify, research and analyze information to create biographical and financial profiles on current donors and prospects in support of ongoing cultivation and solicitation strategies.
  • Proactively identify new prospects through researching news, current events, biographical and financial data, online SEC filings, real estate closures, annual reports, trade journals, philanthropic web sites and other public domain resources.
  • Conduct wealth screenings and analyze data to assess philanthropic propensity, giving capacity and mission affinity to inform and support fundraising strategies and expand the prospect pool.
  • Initiate prospecting and data-mining projects to help actively identify prospects for various fundraising initiatives.
  • Support Development Team in direct and indirect fundraising goals by generating mailing lists for solicitations, invitations, and other stewardship efforts.
  • Maintain an understanding of core fundraising goals and regularly meet with front-line fundraisers to review assignment portfolios and assist with prospect assignment and portfolio optimization.
  • Produce guest face sheets for various fundraising and stewardship events.
  • Assist in continuing to build the institution’s CRM database with relevant constituent information and supporting data hygiene efforts.
  • Stay current on industry-wide best practices and trends; engage with and participate in team conversations to brainstorm new projects and processes to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Participate in systemic and skill-based training to increase knowledge base and enhance overall performance and service delivery.
  • Support in-person fundraising and stewardship events as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Degree Bachelor’s Degree/4-Year Degree

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience in conducting analytical research. Equivalent combinations of education/experience may be considered.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong computer literacy and demonstrated ability in learning new software programs.
  • Ability to plan, organize and perform work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadline-oriented assignments and projects with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent research, writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Exercises good judgment and ability to handle confidential information with discretion. All prospect research collection follows the professional standards outlined by the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA).

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1-2 years of prior work experience in a fundraising setting with an emphasis on prospect research and moves management is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using CRM systems, particularly Blackbaud Altru, is preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Walk, bend, lift (up to 15 pounds) files, office supplies, and electronic equipment.
  • Finger dexterity to pick up paper and use computer keyboard.
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • Ability to hear in normal tones including telephone and face-to-face conversation.
