Description Position Overview Position Overview The Staff Accountant is responsible for reviewing, auditing, and processing all accounts payable records in a timely manner. General accounting and finance support for the organization.

Required Degree Bachelor’s Degree/4-Year Degree

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis in Excel
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong organization and analytical skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and produce quality results in a timely fashion
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented

Preferred Qualifications

  • Non-profit/fund accounting experience
  • Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge and Altru
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish

Physical Demands:

  • Walk, bend, lift (up to 15 pounds) files, office supplies and electronic equipment.
  • Finger dexterity to pick up paper and use computer keyboard.
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • Ability to hear in normal tones including telephone and face-to-face conversation.

Summary

Essential Functions included, but are not limited to:

  • Accurately entering all expenses into the accounting system (Financial Edge); ensuring documentation is mathematically correct, coded to the proper general ledger account, and verifying required backup forms are included as per PAMM’s policies and controls.
  • Prepare, produce, and coordinate approval of bi-weekly check runs.
  • Organize and maintain vendor files electronically and hard files.
  • Prepare monthly American Express expense reports for the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel.
  • Manage vendor inquires in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist in producing reports and statements for both internal and external distribution.
  • Reconcile and prepare daily cash/check deposits.
  • Other duties as assigned.
