Description PURPLE is looking for an experienced Account Manager for its Fashion division to join the agency. This role will play an essential part in supporting the assigned Account Director in developing and executing strategies to generate maximum brand exposure through creative product placement, profile features, and launches. The Account Manager must have a genuine passion for brand development, using initiative to achieve exceptional results. Impeccable client liaison skills and an established network of key contacts (brands and press) are essential.
Reporting to the Account Director, the Account Manager’s responsibilities include increasing awareness for all assigned brands. In this role, the Account Manager will promote different clients in all activities, campaigns, special projects, shows, presentations, and events to the media while developing and maintaining relationships with key journalists and media in the designated market, acting as an ambassador for PURPLE.
Key Responsibilities
- Media networking and liaising across relevant beats; maintaining strong relationships with media through regular one-on-one appointments and meetings.
- Executing media relations plans for clients, including developing outreach plans, message development, event management, coordination of media familiarization trips, effective pitching, training spokespersons, and pitching local, regional, and national stories.
- Conducting competitive media research and analysis.
- Participating in the creation of communications plans and strategies.
- Navigating partnership and collaboration opportunities.
- Spearheading and supporting event logistics.
- Overseeing the development of weekly and monthly media reports for clients.
- Supporting Account Directors in communication with all clients, building rapport, and credibility based on trust and expert counsel.
- Managing all product-related media requests – from email inquiry to prospective media coverage.
- Monitoring media across clients and all competitors.
- Consistently producing high-quality internal and external communications content.
- Oversight and compilation of weekly client agendas.
- Proactively pitching story ideas to maximize editorial placement across brands.
- Managing and motivating junior team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and PR results while supporting their growth.
- Supporting Account Directors and senior team members to ensure maximum support across all levels.
- Understanding paid, owned, and earned media strategies; developing relationships with top influencers to support this activity.
- Maintaining strong connections with leading and emerging editorial talents in the UK and Europe.
- Managing the Junior Account Executive/Account Executive to help reach personal and team targets.
- Contributing to agency new business efforts, including creating proposals and participating in relevant pitches.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Proven experience in a senior position within the fashion industry.
- Proven commercial experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Management experience is highly desirable.
- A track record of positively impacting business through PR strategy implementation.
- Discreet, professional, and well-spoken, with excellent communication skills.
- Extremely well-organized, methodical, and efficient, with common sense and initiative.
- Proactive in promoting the PURPLE offering.
- Creative and strategic thinker with strong established fashion press contacts.
- International press contacts are desirable.
- Strong experience in event management.
- Strong presentation and superb writing skills.
- Ability to identify communication opportunities across multiple media platforms.
- Strong MS Word skills; working knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel
