Role Overview PURPLE – with offices in London, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Hong Kong, and Singapore – are actively seeking a Manager or Senior Manager, Business Development to join the agency's London office to assist in growing the business in a sustainable and profitable way. The role will predominantly service the VIP, Events, and Partnerships team in bringing in new business across fashion and lifestyle clients who we can service from a talent and eventing perspective. The role will also require the successful individual to have contacts within various brands who could be interested in exploring partnership opportunities and being that connector between different clients.

Key Responsibilities

Role and Responsibilities This role based in our London office offers an exciting opportunity to join the global business development team to assist in developing a clear road map for success; continuously improving agency competitive advantage and helping to manage and progress new business opportunities.

  • Assist in the management of all new business leads and enquiries, tracking progress and declining or progressing conversations as appropriate to meet agency conversion targets.
  • Support on new business opportunities working closely with the Vice President of the VIP, Events, and Partnerships team as well as designated individuals across other divisions and departments including:
    • Project management of pitch processes
    • Research and fact-finding for all new business leads.
    • Attend initial chemistry meetings and identify client needs, desires, and 'what would make them happy' beyond the written brief.
    • Interpret client briefs and either lead or take part in idea generation brainstorms while capturing relevant thinking for the proposal.
    • Market and competitor landscape research
    • Identifying pitch team and timelines
    • Working with the team to agree format and input into new business proposals to promote areas of ownership.
    • Attend and contribute to pitch meetings both in a coordination capacity as well as presenting agency credentials and operational aspects.
  • Responsibility for maintaining the master versions of key new business documents including the agency credentials, case studies, and pitch templates.
    • Ensure that case studies are available for new business generation, working with internal teams to update existing case studies and create new case studies, as needed.
  • In the event of successful new business wins, assist with:
    • Drafting new business contracts
    • Internal communication to relevant teams on client needs and contractual agreement.
    • Work with the division head and account team to translate the new business pitch into a specific 6 – 12 month activation calendar.
  • Support the VIP team to research, analyze, and onboard new business tools including media monitoring and reporting, database tools, influencer and VIP discovery, and campaign platforms, to support business success and drive lead conversions as well as client retention.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

What we are looking for

An individual experienced within marketing, communications, and business development, within a similar in-house or agency environment.

  • Ideally 5 – 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of PR and communications and the media landscape, to clearly communicate the agency's offerings and answer any potential queries raised by clients.
  • Tapped into culture and in tune with trends and movements; within the premium and luxury brand space and lifestyle.
  • A high level of written, verbal, and numerical communication skills, presenting pitches and producing documents to the relevant external and internal stakeholders.
  • Confidence and out-of-the-box thinking, challenging the status quo, to bring innovative ideas.
  • Hugely organized, efficient, able to work to tight deadlines and deliver quality results.
  • Ability to work to a deadline and manage a team to deliver on-time results.
  • Experience in effective negotiations as well as legal knowledge an asset.
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrable ability to manage and deliver multiple concurrent projects.
  • Works well within a collaborative and goal-oriented team culture.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Apple Keynote, and Excel. InDesign experience an asset.
