Senior Account Manager, Design, Arts & Culture
The role of the Sr.Account Manager, Lifestyle (Design, Arts & Culture) will be to manage relationships with premium/luxury clients in the lifestyle sector, predominantly within the design and cultural sphere, playing an essential role in the development and execution of integrated communication campaigns for Design, Arts and Culture clients and generating maximum brand exposure through implementing communication strategies including traditional and new media and brand partnerships. As Sr. Account Manager you will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of the junior members of the team and their development.
The right candidate must have a genuine passion for managing ongoing communications on behalf of high-profile lifestyle clients and using initiative in order to achieve exceptional results. Must be organized, driven and creative. Strong written communication skills and an established understanding of public relations are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Media networking and liaising across relevant beats;
- Maintaining and developing strong relationships with relevant media and brands through regular one-to-one appointments and meetings and keeping the wider team abreast of relevant industry news and updates
- Participating in the creation and execution of strategic communications plans for clients including developing proactive and reactive outreach plans, message development, planning and management of client events and pitching local, national and global stories
- Navigating partnership and collaboration opportunities
- Ensuring timely and accurate reporting for clients – weekly / monthly client reports and ongoing coverage emails
- Support the team on communication with all clients, building rapport and credibility based on being able to gain trust and provide expert counsel
- Overseeing the management of all product-related media requests – from email inquiry through prospective media coverage – through sample product distribution and tracking and follow-up
- Ensure a continued awareness and communication of industry news, understanding where potential opportunities lie and feeling able to proactively search for opportunities for clients
- Consistently producing high-quality internal and external communications contentProactively pitch story ideas to achieve maximum editorial placement
- Manage and motivate junior members of the team to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly and PR results are delivered; while supporting them in their own growth and development
- Provide strategic and tactical support to senior members of the team to ensure maximum support across all levels
- Have a clear understanding of paid, owned and earned media strategies, and develop relationships with top influencers to support this activity
- Contribute to agency new business efforts; both creating proposals and participating in relevant pitches
- Promote PURPLE and its brands, campaigns, activities and events to the media, public and external audiences globally
Skills and Experience
- 4-6 years of luxury experience with established agency or similar role for in-house marketing department
- A passion for Art and Design, Interiors, lifestyle brands and culture with a very strong awareness of the design / art landscape both in the UK and globally
- Very strong understanding of and ongoing interest in media relations and strategy
- An ability to handle pressure with equanimity and to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and accountability-focused organization; a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
- Discreet, professional, and well-spoken, with excellent communication skills
- Extremely well-organised, methodical and efficient, with a good dose of common sense and initiative
- Ability to independently develop and implement PR strategies to support brand image, increase awareness and visibility in support of business goals
- Superb critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex information, confidently make recommendations based on data, and work with an action-oriented mindset
- Pro-active and able to show initiative/ideas to constantly promote the PURPLE offering
- Creative and strategic thinker
- Strong established UK design and arts press contacts (International press contacts are also desirable)
- Strong presentation & superb writing skills
- Able to identify communication opportunities across multiple media platforms
- Strong MS Word skills; working knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel
