SAU LEE looking for a highly organized and design-driven Designer to join our Hong Kong-based team. This is a hands-on, mid-level role supporting the full creative development cycle of ready-to-wear and capsule collections, working directly with our Founder & Creative Director.

You’ll play a pivotal role in translating SAU LEE’s culturally rich, sensual aesthetic into seasonal fashion collections—infused with East-meets-West storytelling, refined femininity, and statement-making details.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Development

  • Support the Creative Director in researching, conceptualizing, and developing four seasonal collections per year, including capsules and special projects.
  • Translate trend and market research, cultural themes, and brand archives into moodboards, sketches, and seasonal narratives.
  • Design and update silhouettes with attention to fit, fabric, and detail, in alignment with the brand’s creative vision.
  • Produce accurate technical drawings and update BOMs and tech packs to support sample development.

2. Fabric & Trim Sourcing

  • Lead fabric and trim sourcing efforts, identifying innovative materials and embellishments that align with the season's creative and commercial objectives.
  • Liaise with global suppliers to request swatches, negotiate minimums and pricing, and maintain lead time awareness.
  • Maintain an organized fabric archive and seasonal development library.

3. Sample & Fit Management

  • Coordinate with sample rooms, patternmakers, and production partners throughout the prototyping process.
  • Manage the sample tracking calendar and assist with scheduling, documenting, and following up on all fit sessions.
  • Ensure each sample meets the brand’s standards for quality, fit, and finish before proceeding to press and sales rounds.

4. Calendar & Project Coordination

  • Manage and maintain the seasonal design calendar, ensuring all development stages stay on track.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to troubleshoot delays and maintain alignment with key collection deadlines.
  • Track budget allocations related to design development, materials, and sample costs.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in fashion design, ideally within contemporary or luxury womenswear.
  • Solid understanding of garment construction, fit, and production techniques.
  • Strong sourcing experience for fabrics and trims, with an eye for innovation and quality.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Excellent sketching and technical drawing skills.
  • Highly organized, deadline-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative, resourceful, and solutions-oriented with a strong design sensibility.
  • Passion for culturally inspired, feminine fashion with a modern edge.
  • Experience designing bags, footwear, or accessories is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with PLM tools or platforms is also a plus.
