For the development of new art, design and photography books we are looking for an experienced Editor (m/f/d).
Your tasks
- Development of new titles and series in the art, design and photography programs
- Independent, timely project management for multilingual book publications, from budgeting and scheduling to printing
- Close cooperation with authors, translators, freelancers and editorial offices from Germany and abroad, as well as international institutions and picture agencies
- Clarification of image, text and artist and photographer rights as well as image procurement
- Review and editing of texts
- Internal coordination with graphics, production, press and sales departments
- Support of the head of editorial with projects and coordination tasks
Candidate’s profile
- Several years of professional experience as an editor in a publishing house
- Master’s degree in humanities or similar
- Excellent communication skills in English and German, as well as good knowledge of another language such as French, Spanish or Italian
- High affinity for texts and stylistic confidence in editing
- Trained eye for layout design
- Negotiation skills and confident manner
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work in a team and a solutions-based approach
- International experience with an international mindset
- Good knowledge of the programs MS Office, Acrobat, InDesign
